Ferula root is widespread in Azerbaijan, mainly in Nakhchivan, Guba and Gusar. Although it has a bitter taste, it makes a tasty and appetizing pickle. It is very popular in Nakhchivan. The roots are used for therapeutic purposes; the infusion of the roots in water is a good worm repellent and appetizing; it strengthens the immune system, and it is useful in chronic cough and in the treatment and prevention of cancer. It is also rich in antioxidants.
Mix 200 grams of dried ferula roots with 1 kg of honey, eat a teaspoon three times a day before meals. This paste can also be used to increase the amount of motile sperm in the treatment of infertility.
