Propolis – the natural antibiotic

propolis

What is propolis?

Propolis is a substance with a complex content specially made by bees. When bees bring food from the outside, they step on the propolis on the ground before entering their hives in order to disinfect their feet and not to bring harmful microbes into them. Besides, they block the gaps in the hives with propolis. I should also mention that the content of the propolis under the feet of bees is not the same as the content of the propolis in other part of a hive. In other words, the one under their feet is a better quality and it is richer in antibacterial substances. It is necessary to consider these factors when buying propolis. When bees are not able to drag big insects out of their hives after killing them, they cover them with propolis, i.e. mummify them. An insect mummified this way can remain for years without rotting and does not harm anything in any way.

Propolis is an endless source of healing

Propolis is a very powerful spasmolytic. That is, the analgesic property of propolis is 10 times more than novocaine. For this reason, in the treatment of wounds in the oral cavity and throat and in case of a strong toothache, you can rinse your throat with 20% propolis solution or take it in.  Before you take in 20% propolis, solve it in one and a half teaspoon of water after which the water will look like milk. Drink it all 3 times a day, an hour before meal. When using externally, you can solve 2 teaspoons of 20% propolis solution in half a glass of water and rub the affected area with a piece of cotton 3 times a day. For festering wounds and moles, mix 2 tablespoons of 20% propolis solution with half a glass of water and rub it on the injured area with a piece of cotton. Besides, the most helpful natural remedy for both internal fungus and fungal skin injuries is again 20% propolis solution. In case of fungal diseases of the skin, rub the injured areas twice a day with a piece of cotton dipped in propolis solution. For internal use, mix a teaspoon of propolis solution with half a glass of water and drink it 3 times a day.

When propolis essence is taken in, it decreases blood pressure. Therefore, to cure high blood pressure, solve a teaspoon of propolis essence in half a glass of water and drink it. If internal organs (brain, stomach, intestines) have some scars as a result of a wound or trauma, drinking propolis essence is really effective to eliminate them. This effect of propolis should especially be taken into account since sometimes a scar cell in the brain can cause syncope, headaches or the increase of some ferment like prolactin for years.

–         Propolis is a very powerful immunostimulator for its rich content.

–         Flavonoids and polyphenols inside propolis make it effective in the treatment and prophylaxis of cancer.

–         It is applied externally for skin rash, pimples and acnes.

–         It is rubbed on joints to reduce pain during microbial diseases, rheumatism and rheumatoid polyarthritis. When it is applied on joints as a painkiller or as a substance against inflammation, use a water-soluble version of propolis. Because when propolis is dissolved in water, it is gummed, so when applied on skin, it does not stick to it.  Remember that propolis does not dissolve in water in domestic conditions. It should be prepared only in industrial conditions. 20% solution can be taken in, too. Sometimes using propolis paste may be more effective.

How to make it:

50 or 100 grams of propolis is frozen in a freezer, then grated and mixed with a kilo of honey. The mixture becomes a better quality when 100 grams of pollen is added.

Propolis paste is used for limpness, anorexia, chronic gastrointestinal wounds, fungal injuries of internal organs, vitamin deficiency, osteoporosis and menstrual irregularities in women, high cholesterol, pregnancy toxicosis, rheumatism and prostate gland growth. When the prostate gland grows, the amount of prostaglandins rises, which consequently causes anxiety, anger and pain.  The most effective remedy to decrease the amount of prostaglandins in cells is the propolis paste. This paste is also very helpful for bugs like different types of influenza and in the treatment of hepatitis A, B, C. It can also be applied for lung diseases, especially bronchitis, tuberculosis and emphysema. To cure erosion of the uterus in women, take 2 teaspoons of 20% propolis solution and mix it with a glass of water and syringe it. 20 grams of ground and frozen propolis is added to regular shampoo. Shampoo enriched like this is very effective against dandruff and seborrhea.

How to prepare 20% propolis solution:

Solve 20 grams of propolis in 100 grams of 70% alcohol (to solve well, wait for 2 weeks mixing it once or twice a day), filter it through cotton, gum it, heat it up to 50-60 degrees and put it aside. During this time, alcohol inside it will evaporate, then, you can use it.

You can drop 1-2 drops of this solution into your ear 3 times a day during ear infections.

You can apply a compress externally and take in paste or solution for nerve pains, triple nerve inflammation, different kinds of neuritis and neuralgia.

For early erection which causes a big problem between couples, propolis solution should be applied externally.

For gastrointestinal wounds propolis solution is irreplaceable. At this time, mix 20% propolis solution with half a glass of water and drink it 1 hour before meals 3 times a day. If you lie and turn on each side for one minute after drinking it, propolis will rotate all over the internal wall of the stomach causing wound and erosion to be healed faster. This mixture prevents even the development of helicobacter pylori.
