Our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) gave extensive and valuable information about the benefits of certain plants and foods. I want to collect some of them and deliver them to you:

  • Henna – Continue with henna; it brightens and strengthens hair inparticular and body in general. Those who said their feet hurt were recommended to put henna on them.
  • Lentils – continue to eat lentils since lentils and melons were always praised by the prophets.
  • Quince – eat quince since it relieves pain, clears the mucus in your chest and strengthens the heart. If a pregnant woman eats it, her child will be beautiful.
  •  Eggs – eat eggs since they eliminate body weakness and strengthen the body.
  • Figs – Eat figs. If I was asked which fruit came from heaven, I would say figs. Figs eliminate hemorrhoid and soften the intestines. If anyone wants his heart to work properly, let him continue to eat figs.
  • Mustard – appreciate the seeds of mustard and cress. God has made them a cure for every affliction.
  • Garlic – Eat raw garlic. If I didn’t meet Jibreel (Gabriel), I would eat it, too. Garlic is a cure for 70 ailments.
  • Thyme, myrrh (a tree rich in fragrant resin) and wormwood – smoke your house by burning these plants.
  • Pomegranate – eat with its peel; a pomegranate eaten with peel cleanses the stomach.
  • Rice – everything that grows on the earth has a cure and poison whereas rice has only cure. This hadith is not authentic in some sources.
  • Narcissus – Continue to smell the narcissus flower; the heartache and madness caused by leprosy can be carried away by nothing but the smell of narcissus.
  •  Cow’s milk – drink cow’s milk, cow’s milk is a cure for every type of ailments.
  • Basil – whoever is given a basil flower should take it; it is easy to transport and it smells good. Eating basil strengthens the heart.
  • Chicory – eat chicory without washing because a drop of water falls on it every day from the heaven (or it is the plant watered by the angels of paradise).
  • Meat – eating meat beautifies a person’s morals and beauty, and meat is the main food in this world and in the Hereafter (in other hadiths, eating meat every day is not acceptable, and it is recommended to eat meat sparingly).
  •  Mushrooms – I squeezed 3-5 mushrooms and told them to apply its juice to the eyes of a maid who was in pain. As a result, her eye pain was gone. Mushroom juice, which is not planted by humans, is a cure for eye diseases (this is especially true of the truffle).
  • Olive oil – The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised those who had fluid in their lungs to drink olive oil and use juniper. In another hadith, during pleurisy, he recommended Aquilaria Agallocha with olive oil. Drink olive oil and rub it into your body because the olive tree is a blessed tree.
  • Black cumin – appreciate black cumin because it is a cure for all illnesses except death.
  • Aquilaria Agallocha – don’t take Aquilaria Agallocha for granted; it is a remedy for 7 ailments. The best treatments are treatment with hijama and Aquilaria Agallocha.
  • Pumpkin – Pumpkin and barley are the food of the prophets. Pumpkin strengthens the palate and deepens the mind. O Aisha, put a lot of pumpkin when you cook soup. Pumpkin strengthens the hearts of sad people.
  • Ash – In the Battle of Uhud, our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was wounded in the head. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) carried water, and our mother Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) washed the flowing blood, but the blood did not stop. Just then our mother Fatima[12] burns a piece of cloth and puts it on a bleeding wound after which the bleeding stops.
  • Talbina soup – Talbina soup is a dietary dish. It is very healing if eaten during illness. Soup strengthens the stomach and reduces stress during illness. Talbina soup moisturizes dry intestines and activates it.

How to make this soup:

Honey and milk are added to wholemeal flour and cooked.

  • Honey – Continue to use 2 sources of healing: Qur’an and honey. If one obtains honey with halal[1] earnings and mixes it with rainwater to make syrup, it will be a cure for all ailments except death. One of the Companions had diarrhea, and when he asked for a cure, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised him to drink cold honey syrup.
  • Bread – beware of bread which Allah the Almighty sent down from the blessings of heaven.
  • Beans – If one eats beans, he drives out as many diseases from the body as the beans he eat.
  • I advise you to eat senna and butter, as well as the mixture of ordinary cumin and honey since they are a cure for all ailments except death. If there was a cure for death, it would be senna.
  •  Camel’s milk – the milk of a grazing camel is a remedy for nervous disorders.
  •  Melon – Melon before meals burns black blood and eliminates diseases.
  •  Leek – The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised Ibn ‘Abbas, who had hemorrhoid, to gather and beat leek flowers, then mix them with water and drink them.
  • Parsley – Eating parsley before bedtime deepens sleep.
  • Vinegar – what a wonderful additive the vinegar is. O Allah, bless the vinegar, for vinegar was the additive of the prophets who came before me. The house with vinegar won’t suffer from the lack of additives.
  • Grapes – eat grapes since it relieves fatigue, strengthens the nerves, relieves cough, and if a person eats 21 dried black grapes a day, nothing will remain in his body that he does not like.
  • The water of Zam-Zam – The water of Zam-Zam is for whatever purpose it is drunk. If it is drunk with the intention of healing, it will heal. If it is drunk to quench thirst, it quenches thirst. If it is drunk to satisfy hunger, it satisfies.
  • [1] The word ‘halal’ is an adjective that refers to things that are obtained or earned in a religiously acceptable and honest way. (translator’s note)
