Truffle is sold in our markets every April. It grows wild in almost all regions of Azerbaijan. In our village, when we were children, we used to collect a lot, sometimes so much that we used to get fed up with it (at that time we did not know the price of truffles). Yes, today truffle is one of the most expensive foods in Europe: about 2,000 euros per kilogram. But I would say that this price is very expensive. This is due to the fact that truffle has very rare taste and benefits. Today, truffle is grown and sold only in European countries.

Benefits: Truffle is a very fragrant mushroom. Although it is not common in our country, there are lovers of the smell of truffle in Europe. Truffle is grated raw and mixed with other foods. Not everyone can eat it because it is very expensive. As they say, those who can’t afford it do it like this: they grate the truffle, mix it with unrefined olive oil, keep it at 50 degrees for 3 days and filter it. The beautiful aroma of truffle is transferred to olive oil, which is mixed in dishes and salads. Those who can’t afford it and so-called restaurants use the aroma of truffle obtained by synthetic methods. If you want to taste real truffle when you go there, pay attention to what I have written. Truffle increases sexual potency and enhances immunity; there are opinions in folk medicine about the benefits of it against diabetes. As it contains rich zinc, it is useful in prostate hyperplasia. There is a hadith about truffle from our Prophet (Peace and Blessing of Allah be upon him). Sa’id Ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith: “Mushrooms are a kind of power paste and its juice is healing to the eyes (the fact that the mushroom referred to here is truffle mushroom has been supported by many scientists).

Cut truffle from the top to the inside, carve the inside, and then cook. The juice that is formed as it is cooked will be collected in a hole opened on the top of the truffle. Take the juice with a sterile syringe, pour it into a clean container (you can store it in the refrigerator for a long time), and then dilute it halfway with water. Pour 2-3 drops of this water into the eyes 3 times a day. Truffle juice illuminates the eyes and it is interesting that no germs and pests have been found in truffle juice. It is very effective in the treatment of conjunctivitis. Sometimes there is controversy about which mushroom the hadith is about, but it has already been proven that the hadith is about the truffle mushroom. Although truffle mushrooms are rich in protein, they do not raise blood cholesterol when eaten.
