Making beverages from hips

itburnu

Let me remind you that you might have come across with this beverage in markets. It is very delicious and delightful. I personally love this drink very much. It is useful as much as it is delicious. Although a big part of vitamin C inside it breaks down, all minerals and carotenes preserve their effectiveness. It is a very useful drink for children. It is helpful for pregnant women to drink one glass a day in order to benefit both themselves and their babies that are due to be born. It is recommended for those who suffer from bone cavity, bone melting, weak eye-sight, appetite loss and limpness.

Crushed hip drink:

Add one liter of water to 2 kilos of hips. Boil it over a low fire until the fruits become soft. Sieve them and then throw their seeds. If available, add some honey. If not, add some sugar. If you would like to thicken it to taste, take a kilo of wild oat or just regular oats (they are sold in most stores), keep it in 1.5 liter of water from night to morning, boil it over a low fire in the morning and filter it, finally mix its water with the hip juice, and your drink is ready.

Hip crush:

Wash 2 kilos of hips. Pour 3 glasses of water onto them and boil it over a low fire. Sieve them when they become soft. Put them into a glass jar before they cool down and close the jar tightly. You can mix the crush with honey syrup and drink it.

Hip jam:

Make hip crush. Add a kilo of sugar, 2 glasses of water, and cook it until it gets thick. Pour the jam into glass jars before it cools down and close the jars tightly.
