Rheumatism

revmatizm

Rheumatism is popularly known in Azerbaijan as ‘wind sickness’ or ‘hav’. My grandmother has an interesting way of treatment. In case of wind sickness, the patient is wrapped in 2 pieces of freshly cut sheepskin per day for 3 days, and the patient stays in these skins for at least 12 hours a day, causing extreme fever and heat, and the patient has a very strong sweating effect. After 3 days, the procedure ends, the patient gets washed and has no pain left in his body. This method can also be used for rheumatoid arthritis.

There is another interesting treatment for rheumatism, i.e. wind sickness. She would pour a bucket of plantain, nettle, horse sorrel and ivy mixture into a large pot of about 50 liters, and half a bucket of burnt bird droppings, added some water to it and put it on a fire. She would light the fire below and would seat the patient inside this water. When the water was fully heated, she would weaken the fire, but would not extinguish it completely, and when the water was very hot, she would add a little cold water. The procedure lasted about two hours, after which the patient took a regular shower, dressed in thick clothes and sweated until the evening. I have asked each person who went through the procedure individually. Each patient went through it only once and then did not do it again because there was no need for a second bath as the patients were completely healed.

Let me remind you that these prescriptions do not belong to me; they are the methods used by my grandmother.
