The king of all the fruits we eat, dates, which contain more protein, fat and carbohydrates than any other fruit, and which are rich in vitamins and minerals, can meet all the needs of an organism that does not receive any additional nutrients. The date is a perfect fruit created by Allah.

Surah Maryam, verse 25: “And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates.”

Dates are the most frequently mentioned fruit in our Holy Book, the Qur’an, and various verses contain information about the benefits of dates. Let’s look at the wisdom in this verse. This verse depicts the time when our mother Mary became pregnant and she was giving birth to Jesus after she sat under a dried date tree. Although the tree was dried out, wet and fresh dates fell off it. So why did Allah (the Exalted and the Most High) advise our mother to eat dates?

Researchers have found that dates contain a large amount of oxytocin, which causes the uterus to shrink more quickly after childbirth and make this period pass more easily. This injection is now used in hospitals during childbirth, and at the same time, this substance allows the uterus to shrink rapidly after birth. Yes, every point of our Qur’an is perfectly written. Dates also increase breast milk. One of the hadiths says that if women eat dates in the last months of pregnancy, their children will be intelligent and beautiful.
