The health benefits of prayer

Namazın faydaları

Scientists around the world have already accepted that the actions performed during prayer are very useful for the body. During each sitting (tashahhud), the blood that collects slowly in the legs spreads to different parts of the body. People with rheumatism in their joints can be free of the disease by expelling blood and producing new blood. The fact that the forehead touches the ground during each prostration (sujood) means that the blood circulation in the brain improves. It also prevents diseases such as multiple sclerosis. Brain blood circulation improves, vision sharpens, attention increases and memory loss disappears. Full folding of the joints during prayer prevents osteoarthritis, and bending the body 90 degrees (rukoo’) while bowing is beneficial for the back and pelvic joints.

In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that prayer should be performed calmly, without hastening, not for its benefit for the body, but as a human duty. Such prayers are also the best sedatives.
